There is no sagging roof and no weathered shingles. After several decades in their iconic shack at Fresh Pond in Cambridge, owner Martin J. Hagerty Jr. has moved Fresh Pond Seafood Market & Take-out into a gleaming new Arlington spot. “Some people are complaining it’s too clean,’’ says Hagerty, who worked at the old shop with dad Martin J. (Joe) Hagerty. Now the third generation, Hagerty Jr.’s daughter, Allie, is helping out for the summer. What the new place lacks in charm is made up for with three lobster tanks, an ocean of fish, and a big takeout menu. You can eat what you buy at a booth in the storefront. Share a fisherman’s platter ($19.99) with whole belly clams, scallops, shrimp, and haddock, or order a Maine crabmeat roll ($11.99) or creamy fish or clam chowder ($3.99).

On ice is Georges Bank flounder, Cape Cod bluefish, or the signature thick fillet of hotel scrod cut from the shoulder, for stuffing and baking. Lobsters are $8.99 per pound for culls (single claw), up to $10.99 per pound. Hagerty’s favorite lobster dish is his wife’s hot lobster dip. “She makes it with a little bit of mayo and I scoop up some on a cracker.
