Taste Kitchen: 2 percent milk
Organic milk. It does a body better? Who knows, but with all its claims of no antibiotics or artificial growth hormones, it really ought to. And when youre paying $4 per half gallon, it really ought to taste delicious as well or at least better than the kind we buy in a plastic jug for $2.39 a gallon.
Amazingly enough, we discovered, all milk does not taste the same. We sampled four types of 2 percent organic milk, and the winner, Woodstock Farms, was smooth and creamy, without the sweet and sour tinges the others had. We dont know about you, but milk is one of those things we just have to have in the refrigerator. As long as we have some, even if theres nothing else to eat in the house, it doesnt seem as if were out of food. Its an essential element, really. Earth, wind, water, fire milk.
