Taste Kitchen: Hot dog buns
J.J. Nissen
$2.19 for six buns

Sigh: “Another tasteless, cottony roll. No redeeming qualities.” Hurray: “Moderately soft and inoffensive: a decent vehicle for a hot dog.” Whichever way you slice it, this roll didn’t pack much of a punch. For the camp that wants to taste the hot dog, not the bun, that can be a good thing. Unless, as one person claimed, this bun “tastes like its bag.” And the Charmin tester noted: “Doesn’t spring back at all after a squeeze.” That’s bad for those times when your hot dog rolls wind up under something else in the grocery bag.
