Monica Jorge and Nate Berkus
Oprah Winfrey is buying her a house and the daytime diva's designer, Nate Berkus, is helping her decorate and customize it. But that's not all Monica Jorge is getting. The Ayer mom whose limbs were amputated in 2007 when an infection tore through her body after she gave birth, will be on "The Nate Berkus Show" today for another surprise. (The show's on at 10 a.m. on Channel 5.) When Jorge was on Oprah's show a few weeks ago, Berkus, who graduated from Cushing Academy in Ashburnham, came on stage. He promised to help Jorge and her daughters, Maddie and Sophia. "Monica has really served as an inspiration for so many people," he told us yesterday, refusing to dish on his surprise. "We're all busy. Moms complain their kids have to go to 3 different soccer fields. But when moms are faced with Monica's reality, it has put so much into perspective for so many people."
