Hollywood just can't let go of "Moneyball." The Michael Lewis book about the business of baseball scouting was supposed to be turned into a movie starring Brad Pitt as Oakland GM Billy Beane, but recently, we were told that plans were canned because director Steven Soderbergh didn't like the script. But now, the Hollywood Reporter says the project is back on, and that Aaron Sorkin has signed on to do a re-write.
Sorkin is also adapting local writer Ben Mezrich's book about the founders of Facebook for the Harvard-set movie "The Social Network," which should be out in 2011.
We're happy to hear the "Moneyball" project is a go again, mainly because we'd like to see an A-lister portray Kevin Youkilis, who's mentioned in the book.
Who would you cast as Youk? Tell us in a comment. We're curious.
