Chances are if your hair wasn't coiffed to mirror "The Rachel" at some point in the 90s, you knew someone whose was.

Those days are long gone for actress Jennifer Aniston who brought us the iconic jennifer_aniston_friends.jpgcharacter on "Friends," and so are her long locks. The 44-year-old recently chopped off several inches and was sported rocking her cropped do on Monday. Photographers snapped a pic, visible in the video above.

Aniston told Vogue that longtime hairstylist Chris McMillan cut off six inches of her precious, iconic hair. She commented further in the magazine interview, describing why she decided to cut it:

It’s right at my jaw line, maybe a little longer. It was kind of spur-of-the-moment. I was flipping through the television channels and I paused it to take a picture and I sent it to Chris, and he said, “That’s [stylist] Lawren Howell from Vogue!” And then he said, “I just cut that!” So that’s it. He went way shorter than hers, but she was the inspiration.

According to an Elle UK exclusive, Aniston was forced into the new style.

"It wasn’t for a role," Aniston told the magazine. "My hair went through a phase - I did this thing called a Brazilian and my hair did not react really well to it."
