Author Tom Clancy, 66, has died

Tom Clancy, famed author of books such as "The Hunt for Red October" has died at age 66, according to sources for his publisher and family reports CNN.

A cause of death has yet to be revealed.

clancy.jpg Clancy penned several novels that were later the basis for movies, including "The Sum of All Fears" starring Ben Affleck, and "Patriot Games."

According to Clancy's website, 17 of his novels have made it to the New York Time's best-seller's list.
