Affleck went on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" Monday night to address the Batman backlash on the internet following the announcement that he would play the super hero in the upcoming Zack Snyder adaptation.

The 41-year-old actor chatted with the late night host about being a new dad ("You see the old baby pictures -- I was telling my wife -- 'actually, she looks kind of ugly then, kind of funny looking," he joked) and touched on whether his own trio of kids are excited to see him play the Caped Crusader on the silver screen.

"They've gotta be psyched because daddy's gonna be Batman now," said Fallon.

The "Argo" actor went on to say that the studio warned him about the "trying" process of negative fan reactions to previous castings.

"I'm a big boy. I can handle any snub. I can handle anything," shrugged Affleck, following the studios advice to not "use the internet for a couple of days."

Naturally the "very tough" Boston guy logged in and faced the music. "I saw the announcement ... and I looked on the first comment -- it's like, 'Ben Affleck's gonna be Batman'... and the first one just goes: 'Noooooooooooo...."

"We're gonna be luddites for a while, kids," he laughed

The "Man of Steel" sequel starring Affleck as Batman is due out in July 2015.
