Are Miley Cyrus and Britney Spears kindred spirits?
Miley has been speaking highly of her friend. The two certainly have a lot in common, it seems. They both share a past with Disney. They now have the same manager, Larry Rudolph.
And they know what's it's like to grow up in the public eye and morph from wholesome Disney stars to sexy grownup singers (and face the criticism that comes with their decisions).
Cyrus said this in a recent interview with the Associated Press:
I think people forget what it feels like to be 20. People just evolve and that's all that's happened to me. But people think a mad scientist somehow cooked up this potion and turned me in to a different human, which it wasn't. All I did was get a haircut and buy some clothes and everyone thinks that I am made into a robot that changes with what's popular every 10 years.
Cyrus praises Spears in a Huffington Post UK interview, saying she's the "one person" who understands how hard it is growing up in the public eye.
Check out what she said:
Everyone goes through a time in their life where they donít want their picture taken everyday. She just never had that time where she could say 'Iím going through something right now and need to shut down.' I also donít have that, so itís good to have that one person in my life who gets it.
What do you think of their friendship?
