Fans of the hit TV show "Glee," and much of Hollywood, were stunned this weekend when 31-year-old Cory Monteith was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room. He played heartthrob Finn Hudson on the show.

Acting Vancouver Police Chief Doug LePard said there was no indication of foul play, the Associated Press reported. The Canadian-born actor has talked openly about his long-time struggles with addiction and checked into a treatment facility for substance addiction in April. An autopsy is scheduled for today.

A "Glee" fan convention over the weekend in England turned into a memorial for Monteith.

Melissa Kates, Monteith's publicist, released this statement:

We are so saddened to confirm that the reports on the death of Cory Monteith are accurate. We are in shock and mourning this tragic loss

Glee producers released this statement:

We are deeply saddened by this tragic news. Cory was an exceptional talent and an even more exceptional person. He was a true joy to work with and we will all miss him tremendously. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.

Here is how his cast mates are reacting to the news on Twitter:

From co-star Dot-Marie Jones (who plays the football coach Shannon Beiste) :

Co-star Damian McGinty (who played Rory):

Former "Glee" castmember Josh Sussman (who played Jacob Ben Israel from 2009-2012) posted a photo of himself with Monteith to Instagram, writing, "RIP Cory. Glad to have met you on your journey. U will be missed."

And here is how other celebrities are taking the news.
