A 26-page spread of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge was published in the Italian gossip magazine Chi today.
The spread features the couple sunbathing on a terrace while on vacation at a relative’s home in the south of France. And Kate Middleton is topless. Some of those photos were originally published last week by the French magazine Closer.
The palace is taking legal action against Mondadori publishing house, which owns both publications, and will seek an injunction today to stop further spread of the photos, The Associated Press reports.
William’s St. James’s Palace called this a ‘‘grotesque’’ invasion of their privacy, reports the AP.
Duchess Sarah Ferguson told the Daily Mail, "I have total empathy and sympathy for her. I have been there and know what it’s like."
Cameras caught Ferguson sunbathing at a remote villa in the South of France 20 years ago.
"It is a devastating invasion of one’s personal inner space. It is deplorable, abhorrent and despicable." she told the Daily Mail. (Photo: Paul Morigi/Getty Images)
Some, like these commentators at KDAF in Dallas, say Middleton should have known better. Watch what they have to say in the video below:
This all comes on the heels of nude photos of another royal family member surfacing -- Middleton's brother-in-law Prince Harry.
Do you agree with Ferguson that the invasion of privacy is "despicable?" Or should the Duchess of Cambridge have been more careful?
