Louis C.K. has already scored a Webby honor for selling his concert DVD online for $5, and now the Newton-bred comic is serving up a similar offer for his upcoming comedy tour.

The comedian, who was chosen as 2012 Webbys "Person of the Year" award for his inventive, wallet-friendly approach to shilling DVDs, posted a message on his website on June 25 that he will only sell tickets to his tour on to "bring the price of tickets down and make them easier and less complicated to buy."

The message on his site explains his intentions behind selling tickets directly to fans:

Making my shows affordable has always been my goal but two things have always worked against that. High ticket charges and ticket re-sellers marking up the prices. Some ticketing services charge more than 40% over the ticket price and, ironically, the lower I've made my ticket prices, the more scalpers have bought them up, so the more fans have paid for a lot of my tickets.

By selling the tickets exclusively on my site, I've cut the ticket charges way down and absorbed them into the ticket price.

The funnyman goes on to mention a measure to reduce scalping, stating that "we have the right to cancel your ticket (and refund your money)" if the original ticket shows up anywhere with a jacked-up price.

Check out his full post and let us know what you think of his decision.
