Every year at this time, Tom Brady goes to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. But the Pats QB isn’t really there to see the art. Instead, No. 12 slicks back his hair, dons a tux, and strolls the red carpet at the “Oscars of the East Coast’’ — the Met’s Costume Institute Gala. Known informally as the “Met Ball,’’ last night’s event was a gathering of beautiful people from the worlds of fashion, film, music, and, in Brady’s case, football. It’s a tradition Tom started with his ex, Bridget Moynahan, and has continued with his bride, Gisele Bundchen. The theme of this year’s gala was “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty,’’ a tribute to the British designer who committed suicide last year. Chairing the fancy affair were Oscar winner Colin Firth, designer Stella McCartney, Gucci Group CEO François-Henri Pinault, and his wife, actress Salma Hayek. Yesterday, as she was getting ready for the gala, Bundchen tweeted a pic of her gown, adding, “When I was 17, McQueen gave me my first big break by booking me for his fashion show. Doing his show opened many doors for my career.’’
