Affleck’s next gig?
What’s next for Matt Damon’s buddy Ben Affleck? Maybe the movie based on Ken Grimwood’s novel “Replay.’’ Affleck, who got high marks for his direction of “The Town’’ (and “Gone Baby Gone,’’ for that matter), is in the running to direct the adaptation of Grimwood’s book about a middle-aged man who has a fatal heart attack while trying to prevent the murder of a jogger in Central Park. (Instead of going to the great beyond, our hero is stuck in a “replay’’ of his life beginning at age 18 in Brooklyn.) Several writers have taken a crack at the script, and stars rumored to be interested in the project include Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts. Affleck was also mentioned as a candidate to direct the next Superman flick, but that apparently isn’t happening.
