Aguilera's NRJ triumph

(BANG) - Christina Aguilera picked up two accolades at the NRJ Awards on Saturday night (20.01.07).

The 'Dirrty' singer scooped International Female Artist of the Year and International Album of the Year, for 'Back to Basics', at the ceremony - France's equivalent to the BRITs.

But according to insiders, the two awards she received at Cannes weren't enough to make Christina happy. She was reportedly left furious when she lost out on a hotel suite to Gwen Stefani.

Christina, who had her sights set on Carlton hotel's £3,000-a-night presidential suite, was forced to settle for a £2,000-a-night suite at the Martinez, after mum-of-one Gwen booked it first.

Martinez hotel staff "paid" for the fiery pop superstar's suite disappointment.

A porter told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "We took all her bags up to her room but we didn't even get a tip. We took flowers up as well and still, nothing."

Other NRJ winners included Nelly Furtado who picked up International Revelation of the Year, following the massive global success of her second album 'Loose'.

Justin Timberlake won the award for International Male of the Year, while US band Evanescence took home International Group/Duo of the Year.
