Contrary to popular assumption, ''South Park" fans have not seen the Chef sling his final serving of hash. The character, who until last week was voiced by Isaac Hayes, is back tonight in the first of several new episodes of Comedy Central's top-rated show. Work on the episode began last week, after news broke of Hayes's decision to quit the show because it skewered the Church of Scientology, of which he's a member. Hayes didn't return to voice the new episode, but there's widespread speculation that the show's Matt Stone and Trey Parker used creative editing of past shows to fashion new dialogue.

Rapper awaits retrial on murder charge
The rapper who once went by the stage name of C-Murder has been put in a house arrest program to await a retrial on a second-degree murder charge. Corey Miller
was freed from jail after posting $500,000 bond on that charge and meeting a $500,000 bond on two unrelated charges of attempted murder. Miller, 35, is charged with a fatal shooting at a Louisiana nightclub. A jury convicted Miller, who faced a life prison sentence without parole, but a judge tossed out the conviction after ruling that prosecutors hid the criminal backgrounds of some state witnesses from the defense.
