Several photos published yesterday showed Spears driving her SUV with her son, Sean Preston, perched on her lap rather than strapped into a car seat in the back seat. Spears said she did it because of a ''horrifying, frightful encounter with the paparazzi." The photos may have captured the attention of the county Department of Children and Family Services, though a spokesman for the agency declined to offer any specifics about the Spears incident.
'Science Guy' weds author TindallBill Nye has married Blair Tindall, author of ''Mozart in the Jungle: Sex, Drugs, and Classical Music," a steamy book in which she claims she had a one-night stand with Pops conductor Keith Lockhart. Nye, who hosted the educational PBS series ''Bill Nye, the Science Guy" during its nine-year run, married Tindall in New York last Friday, it was announced yesterday. The 50-year-old bow-tied Nye and Tindall, a former concert oboist, exchanged vows at a conference where Nye spoke. They were married by the Rev. Rick Warren, pastor and author of ''The Purpose-Driven Life." Cellist Yo-Yo Ma, accompanied by MIT Media Lab professor Michael Hawley on the piano, performed a wedding march. This is the first marriage for both.
