Boston area author readings Dec. 5-11

A handful of weeks after January's deadly earthquake that devastated Port-au-Prince and other cities in the region a group of writers, including Robert Pinsky, Rosanna Warren, and Gail Mazur, held a benefit reading at Harvard University. Out of this event sprang the anthology, "Poets for Haiti.'' On Thursday, Robert Pinsky, Marilene Phipps-Kettlewell, and others will read from the book at 7 p.m. at Porter Square Books. All proceeds from the sale of the anthology go to Partners in Health to benefit the people of Haiti.
