Doubleday announced today the signing of Bill Gates for a memoir about his life.
Bill Gates senior, that is.
The father of the zillionaire, a longtime lawyer and community activist who now serves as co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, will tell the story of his marriage and career, and may even throw in a few details about the other successful member of his family with the same name. The book will be titled "Showing Up for Life," and will be published in 2009.
This is an interesting development, and one wonders if it will become a trend. How about a book by Steve Jobs's father? Or Jeff Bezos's? Richard Branson's?
