Robin Dougherty, who wrote the Globe's literary question-and-answer column for the last four years, died two weeks ago of complications from breast cancer. She wrote this previously unpublished piece after an interview with Susan Sontag, who herself died of leukemia last December. It turned out, as they talked, that author and interviewer shared a kinship beyond books. (Full article: 1074 words)
