Sudbury doubling as Vermont’s Underhill for ‘Captain Phillips’

Don’t be confused if you visit Sudbury and the Town Hall says “Underhill.” Crews with the movie “Captain Phillips,” which stars Tom Hanks as real-life captain Richard Phillips, who survived being taken hostage by Somali pirates in 2009, have turned Sudbury (or its Town Hall, at least) into Phillip’s Vermont hometown, Underhill. The movie co-stars Catherine Keener and David Warshofsky, who was in “There Will be Blood” and “Taken.” The Town Clerk’s office told us Wednesday that despite the temporary sign, Sudbury is open for business.
