Retail discounter Marshalls plans to open a 30,000 square foot store in Boston’s Fenway area this fall, in the same renovated building that’s home to the new Yard House restaurant. The two-level retail space will have entrances on both Brookline Avenue and Van Ness Street, according to Peter Sougarides, of Samuels & Associates, which is developing the space.
Marshalls is moving into the space formerly occupied by Boston Billards. Samuels & Associates are spending close to $10 million to get the building ready for the chain store, which features discount clothing.
“Part of the master plan is to turn Van Ness into a great retail street,” Sougarides said.
Marshalls already has several stores in Boston, including locations in the Back Bay, Downtown Crossing, and Dorchester.
